Monthly Must-Haves: Everything You Need for May

Across the world, kitchen tables have become workspaces and little nooks under the stairs have been promoted to corner offices. Working from home is part of the strange new normal we’re all figuring out together! If, like us, you’re looking for ways to make your home office feel a little more like home (or maybe a little more like the office), scoop up a couple of these WFH necessities and tackle the day with ease!

A little TLC for your overworked eyes.

If your job is computer-based, you probably find that your day consists of darting your eyes from your laptop to your phone – and all that screen time can cause serious strain. Some people have found that blue light-blocking lenses might help reduce eye irritation and headaches. And just because they’re useful doesn’t mean they can’t be chic! Try this fun oversized pair with gold accents and round frames in black, tortoise or clear.

Another good rule of thumb: practice the 20-20-20 rule, pausing every 20 minutes to spend 20 seconds looking at an object 20 feet away. This will give your eyes the time they need to relax.

Something to brighten your day.

While we’re on the topic of eyes, let’s talk about the best investment you can make for your home office – light! A great lamp is not only a fun way to add some style to your desk, but it also helps you, well, see. For those of us who’ve set up camp in dark basements, weird spare rooms and spaces that rarely see the light of day, a sleek-yet-powerful desk lamp like this one can be a game-changer.

A quick fix before your last-minute video call.

If we had to pick one LimeLife product to keep at our desks, Perfect Balm would be it. Use the classic formula as a universal balm on lips, cuticles and super-dry dry patches of skin, or massage into tired temples to release the natural menthol. For a hint of color on lips and face, choose from three tinted shades. Blend a dab onto the apples of your cheeks for a sheer flush that’ll look right at home against your virtual beach background!

Something green to keep you company.

Even if you can’t get outside to enjoy spring as much as you’d like, an office plant can bring some much-needed green indoors. The Sill makes it easy to find the perfect plant for your space, whether you’ve got loads of sunshine or you’re strictly fluorescent. We love their baby rubber plant because it only needs to be watered every one to two weeks, it’s small enough to sit on a desk and it’s non-toxic (great for our furry coworkers)!

Happy hour treats for your favorite coworker.

If you’re missing post-workday hangouts with your office crew, you’re not alone. We could all use a little happy hour, so why not send some love to your best office bud with a special assortment of 5pm favorites? This Wine & Savory Snack Collection from Hickory Farms features a bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon, two flavorful varieties of cheddar, dry salami and olive oil and rosemary crackers. Send yourself a box while you’re at it and break into them together over Zoom!

A little time for yourself.

When your home becomes your office, and vice versa, it’s so important to set boundaries and keep tabs on your own wellbeing. Sinking into a soothing bath is one of the simplest ways to calm your mind and body. Light your favorite candles, grab a good book and drop our Pombomb Bath Bomb into the water. Antioxidant-rich Pomifera Oil mixes with refreshing essential oils to hydrate and invigorate. Make a date with yourself at least once a week to refresh and recharge.
